Vestry

The vestry is comprised of enthusiastic volunteer leaders. It acts as the legal representative of the parish in all matters pertaining to its corporate property. The rector is the presiding officer of the vestry.

The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.

Vestry members are elected to vacant seats at the annual parish meeting and typically serve a three-year term.

Michael B. Foley

Father Michael has loved the Episcopal Church and other houses of worship since he was a child. He grew up in San Diego where his father served as an officer in the US Navy and then in the City Planning Department of San Diego.   Fr. Virginia Malmberg

A member for 7 years, Virginia cherishes the warmth of the people, the meaningful messages and willingness to accept all people. She was welcomed the first Sunday she attended and welcomed back the following Sundays. Her first thoughts were how caring and compassionate the members were. In addition to serving on the Vestry, Virginia is also a member of the Finance Committee, the Memorial Garden Committee and participates in the annual Holiday Bazaar.

Allison Joffee

A member for 30 years, Allison cherishes the nourishment of the Sermons and the fellowship of the parishioners. In the past she has enjoyed the sermons at St. Peter’s. While there have been struggles with relationships and St. Peter’s finances in the past, the recent changes at St. Peter’s have given her a renewed hope. In addition to the Vestry, Allison is a Lay Reader and Chalice Bearer.

Hallie Murphy

A member for 26+ years, Hallie cherishes the Episcopal theology and her family history of worship & service in the lovely Gothic space that is St. Peter’s. She experiences God at St. Peter’s through the love, fellowship, worship, teachings, and the times when the parish can learn, eat, and share their stories with one another in preparation for going out into the world to answer Gods call in their communities. Joe Bookwalter

Joe has over 20 years of marketing and corporate sales experience, 15 years of business proprietor experience, and has served on many professional boards and committees. Joe has come to St. Peter’s in 2022 after serving in the Catholic Church as a president of a men’s group. At St. Peter’s, Joe is interested in congregational growth and supporting the contemporary liturgy of the 10 a.m. service.

Paul Humphries

Paul has held leadership roles in the military and in the Episcopal Church. He served as an officer in the US Coast Guard, and as a warden at St. Andrew’s Church in State College, PA. He played the clarinet at the contemporary service there on Sunday evenings. He desires to work on congregational growth and offer strategies gleaned from another parish. His spirituality is grounded as a fellow in the Society of St. John the Evangelist (Cambridge, MA).

Eula Loftin

Eula has a business background running the operations of an insurance agency that involved the writing of contracts and knowledge of the professional practices that guide insurance protocols. While she lived in San Francisco, she served on the Bishop’s Committee and oversaw the care of church property and supplies management.
